According to Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) latest data released in January this year, Japan exported 3.188 million tons of steel, down by 7.4% year on year, for 6 consecutive monthly decline.
In January, Japan's crude steel production totaled 8.772 million tons, down by 2.8%, fell for 17 consecutive months.
Among them, general steel exports totaled 2.073 million tons, down by 6.3% year on year. Among them, the hot-rolled coil exports totaled 1.026 million tons, an increase of 5.4% year on year.
The cold rolled steel coil exports totaled 216,000 tons, down by 2% year on year; the steel plate exports totaled 210,000 tons, down by 27.9% year on year; galvanized sheet exports were 208,000 tons, down by 19.2% year on year.
