United States Steel Corporation has announced this week that its Lone Star Texas pipe factory would lay off 677 workers, due to weak demand in the energy sector. The company has not yet set the layoffs start date, but it will be temporary.

The plant to idle for a long period of time before returning to normal operations in the past year, but t oil prices continued to downward trend which caused a decline in demand of energy pipelines, therefore, the company has to start layoffs program.
