The quantity of molybdenum concentrates produced at Bingham Canyon Mine by Kennecott Utah Copper during January to March in 2015 was 2,700 tons in pure Mo equivalent (equal to 5.95 million lbs), grossly up by 2.9 times as much as 900 tons (= 1.98 million lbs) of the year-earlier period. The material quantity was 5,200 tons.

According to the production report released by its parent company, Rio Tinto plc on April 21, such thing is provided as a reason for the increased production as the molybdenum content in the run-of-mine ore at Bingham Canyon Mine during January to March was an average of 0.041%, up from 0.029% of the year-earlier period.
