Cobalt prices continued to firm on limited spot business. Producers are well sold, and traders reported that they are having trouble finding cobalt at below $14 per lb. Sales of 99.8% Co were reported at around $14.50 per lb, and some traders believe prices are likely to rise to $15. Mid-grade cobalt sales were booked at slightly above $14. Only off-grade Russian cobalt is selling in the low $13s, traders said.
