Cobalt traders agree that making a sale at above $14 per lb is tough, but last week a few sales of high-grade cobalt were made in the high $13s and just over $13. Spot cobalt prices are solid at $13-14, depending on grade, according to one trader. While there has been a slight increase in spot buying for specific requirements, consumers are not concerned about prices rising. “There are no supply issues,” a trader said. “I would be a lot more confident about the market firming if I thought consumers were buying because they were worried about having to pay higher prices at a later date.”
