Japan’s April imports of unwrought cobalt, powder, intermediates and matte fell 25.3% to 698 mt compared to 935 mt in March but were up 3.1% compared to 677 mt in April 2012. Imports for the first four months fell 10.1% to 2,869 mt compared to 3,193 mt in the same 2012 period. Imports from Finland fell 16% to 1,350 mt compared to 1,607 mt. Other imports included: Canada, 406 mt (556 mt in the first four months of 2012); Australia, 345 mt (238 mt); New Calenia, 168 mt (zero); Zambia, 160 mt (302 m); and Norway, 120 mt (144 mt).
