Glencore bids for 70% Anglo’s Brazilian Iron Ore Unit

[Ferro-Alloys.com]Its’ reported that the commodity trader Glencore is one of the four bidders for miner Anglo American’s majority stake in the Amapa iron ore unit in Brazil.

The other bidders include Russian steelmaker Severstal, mining group Zamin, and Australia’s Centaurus. Anglo bought Amapa in 2008 as part of its 5.5 billion acquisition of Minas Rio.

The company will sell 70% of stakes in Amapa and it will focus more on Minas Rio to recover as it faced of delays and cost overruns.
