[Ferro-Alloys.com] Affected by weak iron ore sales, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (Usiminas), an iron ore company and flat rolled steel producer in Brazil posted net losses of BRL124.85 million for the third quarter of this year, falling from a net loss of BRL86.51 million in the second quarter and net earnings of BRL154.03 million in the third quarter of 2011.
In the third quarter, Usiminas realized sales revenues of BRL 3.38 billion, increasing by 5.1% quarter on quarter. In the given period of time, the company’s input costs also increased by 5.1% from a quarter ago.
