[Ferro-Alloys.com] Reportedly, Taiwanese
stainless producers would raise the prices by NT$4,000~NT$5,000/ton for October in response to higher nickel prices.
Driven by the US’s QE3 monetary policy, the
nickel prices have surged sharply to reach the price level of US$18,000/ton currently, supporting the major Taiwanese stainless makers Yieh United Steel Corp. and Tang Eng to hike October list prices.
It’s known that the average nickel prices during September 1st through September 25th are US$1,400/ton higher than the average nickel prices in August, making the stainless producers’ input costs rise by NT$3,500/ton.
Accordingly, it’s predicted that the Taiwanese stainless makers would hike the October list prices by at least NTUSD4,000/ton.
