[Ferro-alloys.com]Several EMM manufacturers from Hunan Province were invited to attend the BRICS International Investors Conference at the end of October. Chairman of Xiangxi Fengda Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. Liu Hanyong and chief engineer of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture Debang Chemical Industry CO.,LTD.  Chen Degen attended this conference. They had discussion on further cooperation with local government and local enterprises.

South Africa is the most developed country in Africa, with rich mineral resources. It holds 80% of global high grade manganese ore reserve. Hunan is the major EMM production area of China. But it is faced with many challenges including ore grade drop, rich ore shortage and high cost. Meanwhile, Mn ore from South Africa is high-graded and the winning cost is quite low.

Mr Chen Degen said although South Africa had great Mn ore resource, its production craft was still backward. Power consumption was 50% higher and there was much manganese in the manganese slag. Meanwhile, production craft of Hunan was first-class in the world.

It was analyzed that Hunan enterprises could import rich Mn ore from Africa, so that energy could be conserved, emission could be reduced and pollution could be decreased. On the other side, Hunan enterprises could also cooperate with local enterprises and provide them with craft, talent as well as capital. A win-win situation could be achieved. If Huan enterprises set some production bases in South Africa and improve local employment, they would be warmly welcomed by South African government.
