Imported ISRI grade scrap offers continued to increase the week into Taiwan. Some deals were concluded, however some mills were not eager to buy due to maintenance at their mills.

A few mills have indicated that they do not believe the current price of scrap is justified and thus have been reluctant in purchasing large volumes.

Taiwanese mills are still faced with the conundrum of a weak domestic market but ever increasing scrap prices, in turn putting a lot of pressure on the mills.

Some mills have however begun exporting their rebar due to Chinese export prices currently being high.
