Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute, released the following statement on the memorandum issued by President Trump regarding reciprocal trade.

In December 2024, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,145,016 net tons, a 0.9 percent increase from the 7,082,921 net tons shipped in December 2023.

Down 4.0 Percent YTD in 2024 from Same Period in 2023.

The U.S. imported a total of 2,067,000 net tons (NT) of steel in November 2024.
