[ferro-alloys.com]In early period of 2018, Lygend mining and Indonesian Harita Group started their OBI Nickel & Cobalt Project in South Halmahera county in North Maluku Province in Indonesia. The total investment volume is 700 million US dollar. It will be put into production in 2020. Two companies make use of abundant laterite nickel ore in OBI island and SX-EW technology to construct and operate HPAL Nickel & Cobalt Smelting plants and its ancillary facilities. The annual capacity of Ni-Co intermediate product will be 240 thousand tons. The product will be used as anode material for electric vehicle battery
