[ferro-alloys.com]China's Shandong province produced 1.74 million mt of alumina in October, up 39.7% year on year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
Shandong's October output was, however, down 5.2% month on month.
Shandong is the top producing province for alumina in China and the other major producers are Shanxi, Henan, Guangxi and Guizhou.
The combined output of these five provinces in October was 5.53 million mt, and comprised 97.9% of China's total output of 5.65 million mt for the month.
Over January-October, Shandong produced 17.84 million mt of alumina. The output was, however, down 6% year on year. The other top four producers were Shanxi, Henan, Guangxi and Guizhou.
The combined output of these five provinces was 54.57 million mt and comprised 96.4% of China's total output of 56.58 million mt for the first 10 months.
