[Ferro-Alloys.com]Chinese ferroalloy market keeps on track to down to the bottom line for the whole year 2014 as Chinese economy is esperiencing tansormation from rapid growth to high-speed growth. On Jan 9-10, 2015 in Beijing, China. Mrs Yue, vice president of Ferro-Alloys.Com made a splendid speech on the theme of future development of Chinese ferroalloys market in the 4th Ferrosilicon Summit & 3rd FACOM Members Meeting.

Mrs Yue pointed out that the total ferroalloy output in China for 2014 reached more or less  38 million tons, among of this, output for ferrosilicon arrived 5.3 million tons, silicon manganese was 11.1 million tons , ferromanganese was 2.2 million tons, ferrochrome was around 4.5-5.0 milllion tons, ferronickel was 11.15 million tons and 1.5 milllion tons for silicon metal. As for electrolytic manganese, China totally produced 1.2 million tons in 2014.

As for ferroalloy export aspect, China totally exported 1.22575 million tons of ferroalloy, showing a year on year increasing of 11.5%. However, in fact, exports of ferroalloy are decreased under the condition of deduction of silicon metal. Meanwhile, imports of ferroalloy in China for 2014 during Jan-Nov were 2.224 million tons. Given lacking of competitiveness, manganese alloy and ferrochrome products in China became hard to export, and ferrosilicon and silicon metal exports accounted for 96% of the total.

When it comes to ferroalloy imports in China, expanding output of stainless steel greatly promoted the ferronickel and ferrochrome imports which nearly accounted for 93% of the total. In addition, given poor ore resource, manganese alloy imports for China also face to rise further in the future.

In general, affected by high tariffs on ferroalloy and expanding outputs for other countries, China ferroalloy market share in international continued to shrink. On the contrary, thanks to huge production capacity for stainless steel in China, ferroalloy imports would remain rapid growth.
