Ferro-alloys.com:On November 18, the signing ceremony for the Mukulu manganese mine design contract took place between the JCHX Mine Engineering Design Institute, part of China’s leading mining contractor JCHX Mining Management, and South Africa’s AMG Group in Beijing.

This signing is another large-scale design project for JCHX in South Africa after being awarded the Orkney gold mine design contract earlier this year, adding to the company’s foreign market expansion and boosting its internationalisation strategy.

Li Hua, the representative of the Chairman of AMG Group, Peng Huaisheng, JCHX President and other relevant persons in charge of both parties attended the signing ceremony. The Mukulu manganese project is located in the world-famous Kalahari manganese ore belt in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Some 332 holes have been drilled with a cumulative distance of about 117.42 km.

It is composed of a shallow orebody and a deep orebody. The shallow orebody has an inclination angle close to horizontal and thickness of ~8m at a depth of 70-190 m; the deep orebody has a dip angle of 5-8 degrees, a thickness of 4-5 m, and depth of 390-770 m. The total ore volume is about 200 Mt at an average grade of manganese of 39.5%.
