The major markets supplying steel and iron to Vietnam in the period included China, Japan and South Korea, according to the Vietnam Steel Association on Thursday.

Japan imported 2250.95 tons of ferrosilicon (≤55%), up 167.33% YoY and up 236.16% vs. last month.

In Jan-Jun, Japan imported a total of 6269.517 tons of ferrosilicon (≤55%), down 36.02% YoY.

Japan June ferrosilicon (>55%) imports down 8.83% YoY.

Japan ferrosilicon (>55%) imports down 15.24% YoY in Jan-Jun.

U.S. imported a total of 1,391,000 net tons (NT) of steel in June 2020.

European coal imports inched up from April's three-decade low, but were still sharply down on the year in May.

German imports will be 16-30pc down on the year in 2020, according to importers' association VDKI.
