AISI reported that the U.S. imported a total of 2,000,000 net tons (NT) of steel in August 2019.

The growth of China's raw coal production slowed down in August, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed.

Of the total coal imports in July 2019, non-coking coal shipment was at 12.66 MT.

Production of raw coal was 316.02 million tons, up by 5% vs. the same period in 2018.

Production of coke was 40 million tons, up by 4.6% vs. the same period in 2018.

In the week ending on September 14, 2019, US domestic raw steel production was 1,811,000 net tons.

China’s crude steel production for July 2019 was 85.2 Mt, an increase of 5.0% compared to July 2018.

The U.S. imported a total of 3,028,000 net tons (NT) of steel in July 2019.
