The 2201 silicomanganese contract price on ZCE closed at 8800 yuan per ton on September 7.

The country reported the first year-on-year contraction in crude steel output in late July since the start of 2021, eyeing a 3.03-percent decrease.

China's crude steel production declined last month, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The 2201 ferrosilicon contract price on ZCE closed at 10672 yuan per ton on September 7.

"The relationship is currently considered to be coincidental," the company said in the statement.

The output in late July also dropped 3.97 percent from that in mid-July, the association said.

Rio Tinto said the MoU is another example of the company actively working with Chinese partners to trial and implement digital solutions.
