Toshiba Corp. on Wednesday announced that it will stop taking new orders to build coal-fired power plants as it shifts towards greener, renewable energy.

"To reach carbon neutrality by 2050, I am calling for all countries to stop building new coal power plants and for partners to stop financing them," said the secretary-general.

China's benchmark power coal price rose slightly during the past week.

During the quarter ended 30 September 2020, FeSi production volumes decreased by 16% while manganese alloys production reduced marginally by 3%.
