China Adjusts Imports and Exports Lists under Inspection, Quarantine

A new list of imports and exports that have to go through the inspection and quarantine process is in effect as of Jan.1, 2009.
 
According to an announcement by China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), and the General Administration of Customs, products under 647 ten-digit codes are not subject to the inspection and quarantine in their entry and exit formalities. Those products range from primary textiles, minerals, stone materials and industrial raw material to leather products, hardware and small appliances.
 
Some products are added to the new list, including tobacco substitutes, chemicals that can be used as food additives, daily necessities, clothes, home appliance, sanitary ware, etc. They are under 357 ten-digit codes.
