[Ferro-Alloys.com]Outstanding electricity dues in the housing sector have dropped for the first time, from $154 million in 2011 to $148 million in 2012. This is truly significant as it portrays a reverse trend never achieved before, Borneo Bulletin reported.
Responsible consumers were given the thumbs-up for voluntarily settling their electricity bills in full or in stages.
This observation was made by the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, YB Pehin Dato Singamanteri Col (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awg Hj Mohammad Yasmin bin Hj Umar during the closing of the Legislative Council meeting yesterday.
“Such attitudes set an example to others who should settle their dues. A responsible society is what the country truly needs. The stability of economic activities relies on adequate electricity. With more focus efforts, the reduction of 37 per cent in electricity interruption has been achieved in 2012 compared to 2010,” the minister said.
