[Ferro-Alloys.com]According to the forecast of the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), Brazil’s iron ore output would reach 820 million tons in 2016, jumping by 76% from 467 million tons in 2011.
Besides, it’s estimated that the country’s iron ore production would increase by 9.2% year on year to reach 510 million tons in 2012.
Vale, the largest iron ore producer in Brazil is predicted to produce 36 million tons of iron ore this year, higher than 322.6 million tons in 2011. Moreover, the company’s iron ore output is expected to reach 425 million tons in 2016.
Meanwhile, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN)’s iron ore output might jump by two folds from this year’s 30 million tons to reach 89 million tons in 2016.
