[Ferro-Alloys.com]The swift fall in moly oxide prices last week brought consumer buying to a halt. Any buyer who could delay purchasing was doing so, figuring that prices had further to drop. At the start of the week, a European consumer purchased two truckloads for immediate delivery at $9.70-9.80 per lb, but by the end of the week, he had received unsolicited offers at $9.50-9.60 and forward offers at $9.40. Traders said they could buy oxide at $9.30-9.40, and some European traders seemed to be making a move to take a position late in the week, buying significant quantities at $9.40. Several producers are following the price down and selling to the trade, sources said. Ferromoly prices in Europe fell to $24.00-24.50 per kg compared to $24.70-25.20 the week before. In the US, less than truckload quantities of FeMo were offered as low as $11.60-11.70 per lb.
