Inner Mongolia is accelerating the elimination and resolution of outdated and excess production capacity, and all restricted related capacities in the region have been phased out.

 

On October 22, it was reported that Inner Mongolia revealed in its response to Proposal No. 525 of the Third Session of the 14th People's Congress of the Autonomous Region that efforts will be accelerated to eliminate outdated and excess production capacity. Currently, all restricted production capacities for coke, calcium carbide, and ferroalloy in the region have been phased out. Among them, Wuhai City has shut down 14 coke ovens with carbonization chamber heights of 4.3 meters, totaling a capacity of 7.29 million tons; Ordos City, including Wuhai and surrounding areas, has closed 8 coke ovens of the same specifications, with a capacity of 3.7 million tons. In addition, 55 electric furnaces below 30,000 kVA in the calcium carbide industry have been shut down, totaling a capacity of 1.529 million tons; 48 electric furnaces of 25,000 kVA and below in the ferroalloy industry have been closed, with a capacity of 615,000 tons; and Alxa League has also shut down 8 coke ovens with carbonization chamber heights of 4.3 meters, totaling a capacity of 3.56 million tons.
