[Ferro-Alloys.com] North China-based major construction steel producer Hesteel Group said Wednesday it would raise its domestic list prices by Yuan 200/mt to Yuan 4,500/mt ($627/mt) for 18-22 mm diameter HRB400 rebar for the August 21-31 period.
This was the third time the mill has raised its prices since August 1, by a total of Yuan 350/mt.
In addition, the steelmaker decided to compensate external agents through which it sells its steel Yuan 60/mt retroactively for their rebar booking, because of lower realized sales during the August 11-20 period, according to the company's statement.
The prices are for products made by Hesteel Group companies Tangshan Iron & Steel, Xuanhua Iron & Steel and Chengde Iron & Steel, for sale in the Beijing and Tianjin regions, and are ex-works on a theoretical weight basis. They also include value added tax.
Hesteel's new price equates to Yuan 4,536/mt actual weight for the specifications Platts assesses.
