[ferro-alloys.com] the calcium carbide market kept stable temporarily since the price upped in the last weekend (2th, August), but the whole supply still was relatively tight. The downstream enterprises purchased positively. The news showed that the rating operation was getting warm in the northwest region. The calcium carbide transportation was blocked by the lasting rainy days in the north of China.

According to the latest news from www.ferro-alloys.com, the calcium carbide factories sold smoothly and the supply was not enough in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia region. At present, the quotation was offered at RMB 2900-3000/mt(USD475-483/mt, EX-WORK, VAT) in Inner Mongolia. The price was RMB2950-3000/mt (USD483-491/mt, EX-WORK, VAT) in the northwest region.

So far the pvc downstream price had not the power to up and the most enterprises would not want to receive the higher price because of great cost, while the calcium carbide situation was different. After the price lasted up, the goods supply still was tight though most small furnaces had started operation. All in all, the calcium carbide supply did not satisfactory the market demand. It was expected that the price would maintain stable in short time. If the pvc price raise, the calcium carbide might continue to up.
