[www.ferro-alloys.com] The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that for the month of June 2016, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,628,953 net tons, a 0.4 percent decrease from the 7,661,979 net tons shipped in the previous month, May 2016, and a 1.7 percent decrease from the 7,758,087 net tons shipped in June 2015. Shipments year-to-date in 2016 are 44,138,403 net tons, a 0.4 percent increase vs. 2015 shipments of 43,980,293 net tons for six months.

A comparison of June 2016 shipments to the previous month shows the following changes: hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip, up 2 percent; cold rolled sheets, up 2 percent and hot rolled sheets, down 1 percent.
