[Ferro-Alloys.com] Mining giant Antam plans to spend $132.4-million building a power plant to back up a ferrous-nickel processing factory in East Halmahera, which is under construction right now. The plant with a designed power of 80MW is scheduled to start construction next year and  was expected to be finished before the complete of the first-term ferronickel smelter, a spokesperson noted. With a planned capacity of 27,000-30,000t, the ferronickel project contains two parts, the first term is expected to be finished in 2018 with a progress rate of 6 percent; the other part costs 3.5-trillion Indonesian rupiah to be suspended right now due to capital shortage.
