[ferro-alloys.com]ArcelorMittal USA is experiencing unexpected downtime at its Indiana Harbor No. 3 blast furnace following issues on Tuesday, according to market sources.
It went down unexpectedly on Tuesday as a result of operational issues, according to market sources. The duration of the downtime is unclear, with one market source receiving indications it may be down for up to three weeks.
A spokesperson for ArcelorMittal could not immediately be reached for details but confirmed an issue at the facility.
The No. 3 furnace is one of three five blast furnaces at the mill but one of three still in operation.
ArcelorMittal produces hot-rolled, cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvanized and aluminized sheet at the facility, primarily servicing automotive markets and service centers.
