Russia Exports less Copper and Aluminum in Jan-Oct, Nickel Export Up

MOSCOW--Russia's copper and aluminum exports fell in January to October following decreasing demand on the world market, while nickel exports increased, according to the figures released by the federal customs service Friday.
 
Russia exported in January-October 190,400 tons of copper, 10.4% less than the amount exported in the corresponding period last year. The exported copper was worth $1.397 billion, 12.6% less than a year ago. Practically all the copper was exported to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States.
 
In the same months, Russia exported 187,900 tons of nickel, 2.4% more than in the corresponding period last year. The exported nickel was worth $2.93 billion, 6.2% less than a year ago, following the fall in prices during the period. Practically all the nickel was exported to countries outside the CIS.
 
Russia also exported 2.989 million tons of aluminum in January-October, 1.13% less than in the corresponding period last year. The exported aluminum was worth $5.457 billion, 3.14% less than a year ago. Most aluminum exports in January-October went to countries outside the CIS.
