Moly prices were flat to slightly lower last week with few spot transactions reported worldwide. Western FeMo sales were booked at $27.65 per kg for fairly nearby delivery. Some sources felt prices were moving up late in the week because of trader interest and the expectation of more consumer inquiries. Others commented that European mills have been tendering for declining amounts of moly since the start of the year. “Clearly their requirements are lower than last year,” said a trader. Traders reported receiving producer offers of $11.40 per lb for briquettes and $11.20 for oxide.
