[Fellow]Japan's exports to South Korea's shipbuilding steel plates continue to decline

【Ferro-Alloys.com】Because the price of Korean steel plates for shipbuilding is generally lower than the Asian average, Japanese steel mills are reluctant to sell these steel plates. It is expected that Japan's shipbuilding steel plate exports to South Korea will decline in the next quarter.

In the past few years, Japan has been supplying steel plates at extremely low prices due to the stagnant shipbuilding industry in South Korea. However, the Korean shipbuilding industry continues to bid at low prices. China will no longer supply steel plates for shipbuilding to South Korea. Therefore, South Korea is more dependent on Japanese supplies.

In South Korea, POSCO’s request for price increases was not accepted by the shipbuilding industry. It is understood that POSCO has decided to reduce its supply to the domestic shipbuilding industry.

According to reports, the Korean shipbuilding industry's bid is even lower than the shipboard shipped next quarter. It is speculated that if the Korean shipbuilding industry’s bids remain low, they will lose Japanese supplies.
