[Fellow]Vital Metals signs contract to start rare earth mining in Canada

Ferro-alloys.com:Vital Metals (ASX:VML) recently announced that it has signed a final mining agreement with the local Det'on Cho Nahanni Construction company to begin work in the North T area of ??the Nechalacho project in Northwestern Canada.

The company stated that the North T area is the first deposit to be mined by the Nechalacho project. Important progress has been made in the production of rare earth oxides in 2021, and Nahanni Construction Company will be mobilized to the site at the end of March.

The Nechalacho project is a high-grade light rare earth (bastnaeite) project located in Nechalacho, northwestern Canada. It is possible to start mining high-grade, easy-to-access near-surface mineralization areas. The Nechalacho Rare Earth Project is located in the upper area. The measured, indicated and inferred JORC resource is 94MT and the TREO content is 1.46%.

General Manager Geoff Atkins said: “The signing of our mining contract in Yellowknife is an important step towards production for Vital’s Nechalacho project. We are very pleased to cooperate with Det’on Cho Nahanni Construction Company, which is owned by local indigenous people.”
