According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US’s crude steel output totaled 1.705 million short tons in the week ended on October 10th, decreasing by 1.3% from a week ago and down by 7.3% in comparison of the figures in the same week in 2014.
In the given period of time, the capability utilization of the US steelmakers averaged at 71.3%, lower than 72.2% from the same period of a year ago.
Crude steel output totaled 69.52 million short tons in this year ended on October 10th, dropping by 8% year on year.
