From January to December 2021, Japan imported 19426.89 tons of rare earth ferroalloy, up 75.14% from 11092.38 tons in the same period last year.

Chinese companies exported 2,353 tonnes of rare earths last month, nearly 31 percent more than the previous month, new customs data showed on Sep.8th.

China is well known for having a stranglehold on rare earth element (REE) production, but that doesn’t mean other countries don’t produce REEs as well.
