American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 1,750,000 net tons (NT) of steel in March 2020.

In the week ending on April 25, 2020, domestic raw steel production was 1,250,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 55.8 percent.

The US produced 7.2 Mt of crude steel in March 2020, a decrease of 6.0% compared to March 2019.

In the week ending on April 18, 2020, domestic raw steel production was 1,277,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 57.0 percent.

In the week ending on April 11, 2020, US domestic raw steel production was 1,256,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 56.1 percent.
