In 2020, Italy’s steel exports to non-EU countries fell by 15.1%

The 2105 ferrosilicon contract price on ZCE closed at 7,134 yuan per ton on March 16.

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 2,422,000 net tons (NT) of steel in January 2021.

For the month of January 2021, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,420,816 net tons which is a 5.3 percent increase from the 7,049,785 net tons shipped in the previous month.

In the week ending on March 6, 2021, domestic raw steel production was 1,755,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 77.4 percent.

The 2105 ferrosilicon contract price on ZCE closed at 7,370 yuan per ton on March 15.

Adjusted year-to-date production through March 6, 2021 was 16,112,000 net tons, at a capability utilization rate of 76.6 percent.

The sharp increase in daily output was mainly due to a low comparison base and rising domestic demand, the association said.
